Region I - The Round Robin qualifying match in Rhode Island between Emigrantes Das Ilhas and St. Michael's was rescheduled for April 13. Emigrantes will then play Real Colombia in the final round robin match on April 15. St. Michaels took the early lead with a 1-0 victory on April 2 over Real Colombia, Alex Couto scoring the lone goal for the winners. St. Michael's can wrap up a spot in the Region I finals with a win over Emigrantes. The Rhode Island team will face Phantoms Future from New Hampshire on May 7 in the First Round of the regional finals. In a preview of their upcoming East Pennsylvania Open Cup final on April 23, Ukrainian Nationals defeated United German Hungarians 3-0, in the East Pa. semifinal for the National Amateur Cup.

Region II - Michigan's represenitives fore the Region II finals were determined over the weekend, as Carpathia Kickers defeated Detroit Eagles 3-1 to book their second straight trip to the Region II finals. Craig Hearn scored twice for the Kickers, and Dave LaPorte added another. Missouri's qualifying run is one step closer to completio, Kutis SC defeated PNA 5-1, and will now face St. Louis SC in the final on April 15. Kutis and St. Louis SC have both won the U.S. Open Cup in the past, Kurits in 1986, and St. Louis SC in 1988. The winner will play Milwaukee's Croatian Eagles on April 29 in the Region II finals.

Region III - North Texas qualifying got underway on April 12 with a pair of games. International United trounced Germio 6-1, and will move on to face last seasons U.S. Open Cup goal machines, Roma FC. Roma scored 12 goals in matches against the PDL's Cocoa Expos, and fellow North Texas club Azzurri. Speaking of Azzurri, they will not make the return trip to the Open Cup proper, falling 2-0 to Dallas Mustangs Legends FC. Florida's two spots for the Region III finals were filled over the weekend as well. DS United, a 2003 U.S. open Cup qualifier, defeated Argentina Florida Amateur 2-1 in extra time. Nedzad Mimic scored in regulation time for the winners, and Richard Blackburn netting the deciding goal in the extra stanza. Lynch's Irish Pub defeated Miami Tango 4-2, on goals from James Holmes, Daniel Villarreal, Ryan Billing and Eric Zegle.
Region III Finals - May 27-30, 2006 at Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Region IV - The NPSL's qualifying campaign began this past weekend, with three matches, and and one of last year's cup qualifiers, Salinas Valley, are in the hole early. The Samba opened qualifying, and their NPSL season, against rivals Sonoma County Sol, losing 2-1. Moises Madrano and Ronnie Silva scored for the Sol and the Samba, respectively, in the first half, and Travis Britt netted the game winner for Sonoma County in the 83rd minute. Up next for the Samba were the Chico Rooks, were Keith Ratzburg scored in the 4th minute, and the Rooks held on for a 1-0 victory. Also in action were two of the NPSL's new teams for this season, the San Jose Frogs defeating the Redwood City Ruckus 4-0.
