Bethlehem Steel took one more step in beginning their National Challenge Cup dynasty, defeating Homestead Steel Works 4-1, at Taylor Field in Lehigh. The Pittsburgh club was the first to score, off a goal by Crawley after eight minutes. Bethlehem equalized soon after, when Tommy Fleming converted a penalty kick. Ford scored the first of his three goals just before the half ended, off an assist by Fleming, giving Bethlehem a 2-1 lead at the break. Homestead goalkeeper Brown kept the score from escalating early in the second half, making several nice saves. Within a ten minute span, Ford scored twice, the second assisted once again by Fleming.
