Fourth Round

Rochester City Moose pulled off a mild upset, knocking off the home

side Goodyear F.C. with a 2-1 win to advance to the quarterfinals.

Just eight minutes into the game, Rochester took the lead, on a goal

from W. Dagger. Goodyear pressured Rochester, but the Moose defense

held firm. Rochester struck again at the thirty minute mark, as R. Doodson

connected on a shot that Goodyear goalkeeper Jones had no chance to

save. Midway through the second half, Goodyear finally found the net

through a goal from J. Kennedy, but Rochester held the Akron club at

bay the rest of the way.

The Robins Dry Dock Football Club , playing their first match in nine weeks,

swept perennial cup favorites Fall River Rovers out of the competition, with

a decisive 4-0 victory at Todd Field in Brooklyn. Fall River started the match

as the aggressor, but failed to produce a goal. At the twenty five minute mark,

Harry Ratican, a cup winner with Bethlehem Steel the past two seasons, scored

two quick goals to give Robins the advantage. Five minutes from the break,

Maguire sent a shot off the post and into the net for a 3-0 lead. Shanholtz netted

the final goal, eluding two defenders down the wing and besting Fall River goalkeeper

Francis Higgins with a wonderful shot.
