The Shawsheen Indians, eliminated in previous years in the early rounds of the tournament, made their way to the National Challenge Cup Final, defeating Abbot Worsted 2-1 at Balmoral Field in Andover, Massachusetts.
Shawsheen produced the only goal of the first half, gained through a penalty kick from Peter Purden. The Indians doubled their lead after the break, Carrie scoring after long dribble down the field. Worsted scored it's lone tally just before the end of the game.

For the first time in history, a Chicago team will represent the Windy
City in the National Challenge Cup Finals, as Canadian Club defeated
Cleveland's Thistles F.C. 2-1 at De Paul Field in Chicago. Thistles took
the lead in at the 40th minute, as Johnson beat a couple of Canadian
defenders to send a low, hard shot past Vic Neate. Shortly after Thistle's
goal, Canadian Club tied the game on a penalty kick. Williams was called
for a handball, and Bob Hannah converted the spot kick to level the score.
With just eight minutes remaining before moving on to extra time, Joe
Phillips received a pass from the left wing, and beat thistles goalkeeper
Bumby for the winning goal.
