The Shawsheen Indians kept the National Challenge Cup trophy in the East, defeating Chicago's Canadian Club 3-0, at Mark's Stadium in Tiverton, Rhode Island. Only 2,500 fans witnessed the championship match, due partly to bad weather, and the fact that none of the American Soccer League teams were involved. Shawsheen had their way with the Canadians, and goal keeper Thomas Murdoch was tested only a few times during the match. The first Shawnsheen goal came ten minutes from halftime, when Andrew Neixon sent a cross in to Edmund Smith, who beat Vic Neate from twenty yards out. \At the 41st minute, Shawsheen was awarded a penalty kick when Alex Carrie was fouled by Bob Hannah. Peter Purden converted the kick to give the Indians a 2-0 halftime lead. Five minutes after the restart, a long shot by Fred Watkins struck the crossbar, but was put in by Carrie off the rebound
