Dynamo's unbeaten run ends in Cary
Chicago joins Indiana at the top of the Great Lakes Division
The Cary Railhawks U23s played spoiler with a 2-1 win over the Carolina Dynamo on Wednesday night. The Railhawks, who were eliminated from Open Cup contention last weekend, handed Carolina their first loss since the 2005 season, a span of 21 games. The Dynamo’s loss gives hope to the rest of the teams in the Southeast Division.

Carolina remains in a three-way tie with Bradenton and Central Florida for first place. All three teams have one game left to play. In control of their own destiny is the Atlanta Silverbacks U23s, the only remaining unbeaten team in the division at 1-0-1. Wins in their final two games and they can book their ticket to the Open Cup.

In the Central Conference, the Chicago Fire Premier (2-0-1) knocked off the West Michigan Edge 1-0. The win by the Fire Premier sends them into a tie for first place with Indiana in the Great Lakes Division, and it also eliminates West Michigan. Chicago and Indiana both have a tough road ahead, as the final game for both teams is against the defending PDL champion Michigan Bucks. The Bucks are the only other team left alive in the division. While it’s easier said than done in a division this strong, if the Bucks are able to win both games, they will qualify for the tournament.
