Qualification
The US Open Cup, which is recognized as the US Soccer Federation’s National Championship, is an annual competition open to all amateur and professional soccer teams affiliated with US Soccer.  Within the US Open Cup framework, teams shall compete in one of the following four categories:
  • Professional Division I (Major League Soccer)
  • Professional Division II (A-League)
  • Professional Division III (USL Pro Soccer League)
  • Amateur Division (Premier Development League; U.S. Adult Soccer Association)
COMPOSITION
The field of 40 teams will be comprised of 10 from MLS, eight from the A-League, six from the USL Pro Soccer League, eight from the PDL and eight from the USASA.
