Some things you should know about the Qualifying Round of the U.S. Open Cup
The Qualifying Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup was first introduced in 2005.
In the two years since the round was introduced, it has featured PDL vs. USASA matchups. In 2005, the USASA (Salinas Valley Samba, Dallas Roma FC) won both matches. In 2006, the PDL clubs (Cape Cod Crusaders, Des Moines Menace) were victorious in both contests.
The Des Moines Menace (2006) have been the team to advance the farthest (3rd Round) after beginning the tournament in the Qualifying Round.
